Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival 2026

The iconic Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival returns to Australia’s sporting capital on 11 October 2026. Thousands of participants from far and wide will take part in five distances from 3km to the full marathon, starting at Batman Avenue and venturing through iconic Melbourne landmarks like Flinders Street Station and the Royal Botanic Gardens with the ultimate finish at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Welcoming runners of all ages, abilities, and experience levels, the five distances include the Melbourne Marathon (42.195km), Wheelchair Marathon (42.195km), Half Marathon (21.1km), 10km Run, 5km Run, and the family-friendly 2.5km Walk. Beginning in 1978, the event has grown to become Australia’s largest marathon festival. Entry to the Marathon and Half Marathon is by Ballot.
